The Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) was a New Deal agency established by the Federal Emergency Relief Act of 1933. It provided vocational training and work-relief projects, and directed the Civil Works Administration. FERA was replaced in 1935 by the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
